Create a Valentine They Will L♥ve to Display Year Round!

Hi everyone!

True :D  here today to share another simple but elegant project with you. 

How many times have you poured your heart into a Valentine, only to see it put away in  a drawer or *gasp* thrown in the garbage? Why not make them something this year that they will love to display? This sweet little heart can be hung on a wall, doorknob, or even on a rear view mirror in a car. :)

It was quick and easy to make using Spellbinder dies and Want2Scrap bling.

The designer cardstocks are some that I illustrated for Inky Antics. I have to say that it is super fun working with your own creations! :)

I stamped a sentiment on the back from my Inky Antic's #1115MC "Swirly Bird" clear stamp set. There is still plenty of room for a hand-written message as well.

Beautifully Frame Your Cherished Photos With Nestaboard and Bling!

Hi everyone!

True :D here to share a couple of projects with you.

Now, I could have taken this darling photo of my grandson Joseph, and taped to to the refrigerator to display, but why just tape, when it's so easy to turn it into a beautifully framed piece of art?

I simply took a Want2Scrap - Nestaboard Labels Eighteen piece, covered it with a scrap piece of designer paper from my stash, and inked the edges.

After it dried, I adhered a photo and the "baby Joseph" pieces that I made from kraft cardstock. The beautiful finishing touches of 72 Count LeCreme Pearls and 72 Count Turquoise Rhinestones, add so much sparkle and shine! I added a couple of magnets to the back and placed it on my refrigerator so I can see my darling grand-baby every time I walk past it. ;)

I thought I would share a bonus project today as well.

I created this card for Inky Antics CHA board display.

It was created with one of my brand new stamp sets and designer papers!

The stamp is #11156MC "Swirly Butterflies" clear set, and the paper is my #IA-PAC002 Butterflies on Roses designer paper. 

I loved how this card turned out, but it wouldn't be nearly as pretty without adding the sweet 72 count Pink Pearls.

Blinged "Dreams" Canvas with My Little Shoebox

Hi Everyone!

True :D here. :)

Today I get to share a project that I created with some My Little Shoebox papers and lots of bling.

I have really been loving canvases as of late and chose to do an 8x10 for my post today.

I covered the entire canvas with MLS "Secret Garden" paper, added some old book page pieces, some inking, and white acrylic paint. Everything is glued into place with Mod-Podge.
The "Dreams" Fancy Chipboard Word is from Want2Scrap, and is covered with beautiful Mediterranean glitter from Art Glitter.

The flowers are from MLS Vintage Shop - 3D Roll-Up Flower Accents. 

I used White Finesse Swirls Pearls and 72 ct. Pink Rhinestones to finish it off.

Blinged Up "Thank You" Card

 

 

Hi Everyone!

 

I'm excited to be back with Want2Scrap after a short hiatus!

 

Today I made a "Thank You" card using Fancy Tags Two Nestaboard and coordinating Nestabling as well as some 72 count white pearls.

 

 

The pretty flower was created with Spellbinders #S4-364 Spiral Blossom and #S4-385  Little Leaf Sets. Here is a close up for a better look. :)

 

The designer paper is Vintage Ocean from Bo-Bunny via Discount Card Stock.

The white wrinkled ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

"Go Fly a Kite" Birthday Card by: Trudy Sjolander

Hi Everyone!

True :D  here, and today I would like to share a card with you today!

I loved this fun designer paper with the kites and decided to create a larger kite for the focal point.

Here's a close-up of the kite. See the dots on the DP? I created them with some Terri Sproul's  Jewel Effects Mixers and some 3D crystal Lacquer from Sakura Hobby Craft.

I thought the Finesse Swirls Pearls would make nice "wind gusts" and I also used some 72 Count White Pearls in the corners.

Shabby Chic Altered Chest by Trudy Sjolander

Hi everyone!

True :D here :)

I'm a card artist at heart, but every now and then I like to mix it up a bit!

I saw this ugly chest at the dollar store and just had to buy it! 

I knew with some pretty paper, flowers, and bling, that it could be a beautiful accent for one of our guest rooms. 

First I gesso-ed the trim to start with a clean slate (sort of... I left some brown showing on purpose), then used lots of acrylic paints, mists, and my fingers to get an aged "painted and re-painted over the years" look.

Looks old to me...what do you think?

  

I added some paper, flowers, some White Finesse Swirls and White Pearls from Want2Scrap and viola!

The lighting in the guest room isn't prime for photos so the color is off, but can you see how well it matches the decor?

A Blinged Out Mother's Day Card For My Daughter-in-law.

Hello everyone!
True here, and today I am sharing a triple duty card with you.

Karen gave me the OK to create a card for my post here and for a  blog hop that is gong on over at my blog. 
I wanted to share some pretty bling with my hoppers too! 

I also needed to create a Mother's Day card for a very special lady in my life. My daughter-in-law Kristin. She is expecting our very first grandchild in October!

I am a firm believer that from the very second of conception, a baby is a baby, so that makes Kristin a mom even though the little one is still in her tummy. :)

Kristin, like her mother-in-law, LOVES BLING so I really did it up on this one!
The pretty vertical piece to the left of the image is Beautiful Bling-Black Wave Rhinestone/Silver.
I also used some Hot Pink Pearls and a super brilliant Heart Ribbon Slide.

I broke out with my Copic markers for a change on this one. :)

LOVE Hot Pink And Black Bling!

Hi Everyone! True :D here.

I just LOVE that there are so many colors of bling to choose from @ Want2Scrap!

For my card today, I combined the pretty Hot Pink and Black 72ct. Rhinestones. Those colors always go so well together.

I colored the fun Inky Antics images in with some Designer Dries Clear glue and Ultra Fine Transparent Glitters from Art Glitter.

I used adhesives from both Beacon and GlueArts.

The cardstocks are all from Discount Card Stock.

The ribbon is China Doll Hand-dyed Silk from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This was a double duty card. I also created it for today's CardMaker Magazine "Rock Star" blog hop where we were to use a song, artist, or lyrics as our inspiration. I used both part of the lyrics and the band's name as inspiration. Leave me a comment below if you figured it out. (Don't give the answer though so others can play along).  :)

Grungy Girly Glitzed and Glammed Card with Gems and Glitter

Hi Everyone!

True here today to share my glitzy butterfly card with you.

Now, you might think I went a little crazy with the Want2Scrap bling, but the way I see it, a girl can never have too many sparkly things! :)

I used lots of glitter for several reasons.

One, because I love glitter!

Two, because Art Glitter is one of our preferred partner companies.

Three, because I also design for Art Glitter!

And....last but not least, because I needed a card using a glitter technique for my CardMaker Magazine blog post today.

I just love it when things all fall together like that!  :)

I used glitter around the edges as a kind of sparkly way of distressing, and I also colored the butterfly in with it.

"Shine" ATC by: Trudy Sjolander

 Hi Everyone!

True :D here, and I'm so excited to be posting my first ever project as a new Want2Scrap designer!

The new Want2Scrap gang has a very special project in the works for a very special cause. You will want to keep checking back here to find out more info about it as we get closer to the event. ;)

Though, I can't share many details about it yet, I CAN share a project I created for it!

This ATC (Artist Trading Card) was created using one of  Want2Scrap's new Chipboard ATCs. 

The pretty Glittered Teal Chipboard and Glittered Writing Cardstock are both from The Robin's Nest who are one of our wonderful cross promotional partners. 

I cut a 2.5"x3.5" piece of the glittered chipboard and adhered it to the Want2Scrap ATC. Then I simply tore a corner from the designer paper, inked the edges, and adhered it. I used some letter stamps to ink and emboss the "Shine" sentiment, then inked around the edges of the entire card.

I used a store-bought flower that had a different center that didn't work for what I wanted,  so guess what?

I pulled the center and added one of the beautiful Self-Adhesive 72 Count Le Creme Pearls from Want2Scrap!  I inked the edges of the flower to "grunge" it up a bit.

And to bling it up a little more, I added a couple of pieces of  Want2Scrap's Le Creme Finesse Swirls Pearls.
