Merry Christmas

I love everything about Christmas even though it brings a bit of sadness to me, and a lot of other people. I can’t help but think about all the people in my life that have passed away, and are no longer here to share the Holidays with me. I miss my Dad so very much. He would not want me to be sad. We were so close. Let us not forget the people that are spending the Holidays alone. Let us not forget the families that have lost their little children in the Newtown Tragedy.

You, me, all of us…we have our own problems and challenges. We are not perfect either. We are only human and face our struggles each day. But keep in mind that we all have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful that my parents raised me with religion. He is who I turn to help me with my challenges. I am thankful for my faith in God. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for good friends. A roof over my head, food on my table, heat to keep me warm, electricity to light my home. All the little things that I take for granted each and every day.

I remember the days when I prayed every night that God would let me live long enough to see my son turn 16. I wanted him to remember me. That was back in 1997 when I was sick with breast cancer. He is now 20. Thank You Lord.

The tree is up and lit and there are presents under it. I’m going to cook a big dinner. We will share smiles and old stories. We will make new memories, but I will not forget the “Reason for the Season”. We have all been blessed.

Thank You everyone for supporting Want2scrap and helping us get to where we are today. Without you, it would not have been possible. We hope we helped to make your lives “shine” just a little bit more. I wish you nothing but the best for 2013.

Merry Christmas

Michele

and from all of us at Want2Scrap too, Merry Christmas...

  3. What a BEAUTIFUL post, to match your LOVELY creation, Michele! I know too well, the ache for a father, who is no longer, physically near. It's one of the cruelest parts of growing up. But you REALLY articulated the bigger picture, so well. We are ALL blessed in so many ways, even when we don't see it. I'm so grateful for your wellness, and for this INCREDIBLE creative outlet where you have made SO many people enjoy their art, and their opportunities SO much more. I hope you had a GLORIOUS holiday, and I ABSOLUTELY know your Dad is proud of you.... {!} Much love to you, and your family! Here's to a FANTASTIC New Year! xoxo
