hj-want2scrapHello everyone. I’m heather an I’m happy to share with you my very first card as a new Design Team member.

I needed one last Christmas card and the wonderful Swirls white pearls from the store HERE worked perfectly to dress it up.

I cut it to suit my card.  I just needed a piece  for the corner to dress it up a little.

Cupcake Album Cover

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to be sharing with you a new chipboard album that I discovered at the Want2Scrap booth a few months ago and have finally had the chance to play with....meet the Cupcake Chipboard album!!

Ack! I just absolutely adore this album! Now, this is just the cover of the album...I plan on finishing out the inside pages and sharing with you in upcoming posts. :) I used quite a bit of Want2Scrap products here....of course some bling...but can you notice something else chipboardy here?

Mmmm...some new assortments of Chipboard flourishes. I simply sugared it up and layered it on top of some bling flourish that I cut from this little number HERE. I think they make such a beautiful pair together and you will probably see this again! :)

And can you believe that I snagged some of this lovely crochet trim from Want2Scrap as well? They seriously do carry everything for your scrappin' needs! Now, I need to get cracking on the inner pages...I'm so excited to play more with this...and there are more little cute items to show that are included in the book!

Thanks so much for looking!!!

Gift Inspiration: Want2Scrap Acrylic Mini

It has been a while since I’ve done an acrylic album. I was very excited to get a Lacrosse acrylic album in my DT package this month from Want2Scrap. You have to check out the store for all these yummy ribbons and bits of bling. Is that not a fab brilliant blue?

Last year was the first year our area had lacrosse for boys Jack's age and he was very excited to try it.

I just love how the pages are cut out of this album. I took a bit of black paint and outlined each letter so they stood out against the photos.

I always love sports photography and lacrosse gave me some awesome photo ops.

I must say, it was not easy watching my "little guy" put on all the gear and get hit with "metal sticks".

He seemed to enjoy it a lot...even wearing all that equipment on 90 degree days, ugh!

I also added some acrylic stars, arrows and even a chipboard star to this mini...rub-ons totally pop in albums like this.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you’re having a great, stress free holiday season...if there is such a thing, lol!

Trim your Christmas Daily album with sparkle!

Hello everyone! Dana here with some December Daily album inspiration!  I made the base of this album in a fabulous class with Mr Tim Holtz a few weeks back and at the time I thought that it would be PERFECT to finally take on the December Daily concept from Ali Edwards.  All I need to do is add my own touches....and you KNOW that includes some sparkley bling from Want2Scrap.
First up, some Turquoise rhinestones to adorn the centers of the snowflakes on the tissue tape.

This gorgeous blue painted grunge paper page with cool reindeer and bling is absolutely the brainchild of Tim Holtz.  I loved his design so much I went ahead and replicated it in my own album.  But wait! Uh oh!  What is this?  Looks like this bling strip from another company lost a piece of bling in transit from the class to home...no worries, I've got Want2Scrap Baby bling in silver to replace it.

There!  That's better!
My intro page of this book is a piece of vintage sheet music that I added to the book when I got home.  I happily discovered a music sheet of a song titled "Day By Day"...how perfect is that?!  The fabulous december calendar from Elle's studio was inked around the edges and then adorned with 72 count rhinestones in green from Want2Scrap.  A little tip on treating raw edges of ribbon like the striped piece from Stampin Up above is to dab a bit of liquid adhesive all along the cut edge to prevent fraying.  I use Scotch Quick Dry liquid adhesive.  Love that everything kind of glue.
Oooooh!  Don't those green rhinestones just sparkle?  This reminds me of a lighted show marquee!  I think this bling is ready for it's close up Mr. De Mille!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing in my December Daily fun!  Can't wait to see what you are doing with Want2Scrap bling!

Stocking: From Sale Aisle to Glamorous Display

Hi everybody!

I hope you are having a great time with all the holiday inspiration!  I know we’ve had a lot of fun creating with the Passionately Artistic Design Team.  It’s really putting me in the mood for the holidays.

I just have a few finishing touches yet for around the house and one of them is our stockings so I came up with an easy tutorial on how to take a clearance find and turn it up a notch!  Please visit me over at the Passionately Artistic blog as I was asked to guest design today.  I thought this stocking tutorial would fit right in with the 12 days of Christmas celebration on!
So let’s get started:
stocking-before
We are going to take a store bought stocking that has great potential and tailor it to fit your color scheme this year. So let's get started!
Supplies:
  • Stocking (can find in sale aisle of home goods store)
  • Poinsettias, glitter and velvet in various colors (Dollar store find)
  • Rhinestones, Wan2Scrap.com
  • Poinsettia ornament (Dollar store find)
  • Sprays, clear plastic (Dollar store find)
  • Scissors
  • Glue Dots
stockingd
How to:
  1. Using scissors, cut apart the stems of the poinsettias flower/leaves and layer each until you like the look of your flower.
  2. Adhere Want2Scrap rhinestones in various colors to center and secure with glue dots. Add various sprays/leaves to each corner as filler. Position with glue dots as well.
  3. Adhere coordinating red Want2Scrap rhinestones to the design of the stocking.

With these stockings, you can easily update them for the following year if you want a different look.  You can either change the stocking by adding a contrasting poinsettia or even by updating the look all together.  Since you're using glue dots and adhesive rhinestones from Want2Scrap, you can even change the colors of those to fit.

I do hope you've enjoyed the stockings and are inspired to personalize your own.

Christmas Card Inspiration by Dana

One of our creative chicas . . aka Want2Scrap Design Team member Dana . . has created some wonderful cards to help get you into the Christmas spirit!!  This very talented lady can really work magic with our rhinestone and pearls!!

Her first card has this adorable little banner accented with our line of beautiful green pearl bling!  Not to mention the hand-dyed bow . . WOW

Here is a close up of the Merry Christmas tag and little white bird.

What I love about the next card is the use of pink and red for a holiday card.  Anytime you can work with pink, I’m all over it!

Dana used our red rhinestones on top of the painted letter “Y”.  Isn’t she creative???  Love the ribbon too accented with a snowflake and button.  It adds the perfect touch for this card.

We hope you’ve been inspired and will continue to stop by in a few days for another round of inspiration!

Candle Tutorial with Guest Designer Terrie Bailey!

We have a lovely treat in store for you today!  I’d like to introduce to you our Guest designer for another stop on the 12 Days of Christmas!!  We would like to welcome Terrie Bailey as she walks us through the process of making this beautiful altered candle.

Wouldn’t this look sweet on a tablescape??

Hello, I’m Terrie! Please join me today while I share a quick and easy way to use those delicious Martha Stewart Glitter Glues on your paper flowers. Just glitz them up to give an extra bit of sparkle for the upcoming season, adding a more festive feel to Christmas.

Let me tell you I love the Martha Stewart Glitter glue. It is so easy to apply and when dried it dries beautifully, no clumping or running like you get with the other glues.

So let’s begin!

candletuts five4)

Supplies:
  • 1 plain pillar candle.
  • Martha Stewart glitter glue.
  • Want 2 Scrap bling.
  • Wire ribbon.
  • Prima flowers.
  • Glue dots.
candletutstwo
How to:
  • First  wrap  your wire ribbon  around  your candle and secure  on  the back using GLUE DOTS
  • Add  a little  glitter glue to all the petals of  your flowers and lightly smudge in using the  back  of  your finger. Let dry.

  • Place your Want2Scrap bling  in the center of your flower.
  • Add a glue dot to the back of each flower.
  • Position all the flowers around the center of the ribbon and adhere to the center of the candle.
When lit watch the candle sparkle in the light.

Personally I love how this candle turned out and I like the fact that it can be used after the holidays are over as well.  Thanks Terrie for showing us how to make this beautiful project!
