Nestaboard Tutorial...lets get dirty!

I decided it was time to play with the Nestaboard™ from Want2Scrap™ and see how versatile it is...guess what, just as I anticipated...very versatile. I pulled out my Chipboard tools to see if they worked on the Nestaboard™! They sure do!

The first step is to spray the Nestaboard™ with water until it is wet. I used the Nestaboard™ Labels One, don't you love them!

While it is still wet insert the head into the stamp and hammer away until the Nestaboard™ stamp is embossed on the chipboard.


I used some black paint to cover the entire surface. Then I used a foam brush and very lightly painted on a contrasting color. Do no dab, but just lightly brush on the paint. To finish it off paint on a very thin layer of sparkle mod podge. This is the final product...It really looks great along with the Nestabling™ Labels One in Black Rhinestones.


Now add it to your card or layout!


I had a ton of fun playing with this, and it creates a beautiful technique that will be unique every time! Now why don't you pull out those tools and play too!

Sparkling Nestabling™

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a tutorial to share with you showing another way to use a piece of Nestabling™ from Want2Scrap™ even if you don't have a die template.


Instead of using a die cut I used a 4 inch doily for my focal point and stamping base.


I started by inking the doily with three colors of Distress Ink--Tumbled Glass (blue), Victorian Velvet (rose) and Antique Linen.


Next I stamped a sentiment in the center using the Grand Greetings stamp set from Crafty Secrets and then I inked the edges with Rich Cocoa ink.


Then I added the Nestabling™ to the doily. The third circle of the Nestabling™ Heart Circles Pink Rhinestones fits perfectly in the center of a 4 in doily! Gotta love that!! When you are using your Nestabling™ sometimes it can be a lot of fun to think out of the box and look at other ways you can use it.


To add a little sparkle I used Glue Gloss on the Doily and then added Pralines & Cream Fairy Dust Glitter.

I used LF-006 Wonderful Wings die template to create the butterfly in the corner and then I added some glitter, Finesse Swirl White Pearl and 72 Count Pink Rhinestones. I also added a seam binding bow, trinket pin and button. The card base is Simply Smooth Ivory from Discount Cardstock and the designer paper is from the Vanity Fair Collection by My Mind's Eye.

Spooky Luminaries light up the night!

Hello friends! Today I am excited to share a holiday project with you!

Want2Scrap™ has wonderful laser cuts, so very intricate, and I snapped up these three a little while back in the hopes of making some fun new Halloween decor. From left to right:

I also had two glade candles in the perfect shade of orange to use for this project.

I started by separating the witch laser cut from the white cardstock moon.

Add adhesive to the backside of the laser cut. I chose a repositionable one in case I needed to move things around and also because any excess would be easy to rub off of the glass once the laser cut was applied to the candle holder.

I was careful to get all of the tiny details coated in adhesive.

In this case I trimmed the overhanging part of the laser cut and repositioned it according to the size of the candle holder.

Perfect fit!

She's spooky huh? I love the great orange glow of the candle behind the black laser cut. Now, I would be remiss if I didn't lend a bit of caution...the laser cuts are paper so be sure and practice safe candle burning habits. For a similar effect use a glass container and a battery operated mini light if you plan to leave this luminary unattended.

OoooooooOOOooooooh! I think I feel the first crisp breezes of Autumn.

Good morning blogging friends! My mom was in need of a welcome card for one of the new employees at work.


Here is the card that I designed. The card is basically pretty quick and easy but by using the Nestabling™, Nestaboard™ and other bling it really dressed the card up.


I used Tuxedo Black ink and two stamp sets from Crafty Secrets, Birds of Happiness (sentiment) and Grand Greetings (flourish accent) and stamped them on to Frosted Pink Prismatic paper. Then I taped the S5-030 Fancy Tags Two die template for perfect placement and used the Grand Calibur from Spellbinders to cut/emboss the tag. I added the tag to Nestaboard™ Fancy Tags Two and then added Nestabling™ Fancy Tags Two Black Rhinestones. I used S5-071 Twisted Metal Tags and Accents to cut/emboss the black frame. Then I added the small rhinestones from 72 Count Pink Rhinestones.


I used E8-003 Classic Triple Scallop Edgeabilities® to cut/emboss the decorative edge along the bottom of the card. Then I added 72 Count Pink Rhinestones and Baby Bling Black Rhinestones.




All of the cardstock is from Discount Cardstock and the designer paper is from Authentique Uncommon Collection.

Guest Designer - Trudy Sjolander - Autumn Greetings

Good morning blogging friends! Today, we have Trudy Sjolander joining us as our Guest Designer for September. Trudy designed this adorable Autumn card. The image is a pre-colored "Autumn Friends" digi image that Trudy designed. The image is then layered on the square die cuts. Trudy used S4-126 Classic Squares Large and S4-127 Classic Scalloped Squares Large die templates from Spellbinders™ to create the shapes. Then she added Nestabling™ Beaded Square White Pearls to embellish the die cuts and accent the image. Trudy used Copic markers to add color to the white pearls and now the pearls match her project perfectly. Want2Scrap™ sells pearls, rhinestones and Nestabling™ in many different colors but sometimes when your working on a project you need to have that perfect color match and you can achieve that using the white pearls or silver bling and Copic markers.To finish off her card Trudy added purple glitter and a beautiful bow with Apple Green Satin Diamond ribbon. This is a special layout of my grandfather and I when I was a little girl. As a child raised by her grandparents they were VERY important to me and preserving memories of them is something I cherish. My grandfather and I were buddies. Out of the three girls I was his tomboy and love to fish with him and get my hands dirty…seems like some things never change (I always have ink on my hands).
