Meet our Guest Designer...Lynn Ghahary!

Well, everyone knows her name because of her amazing talent. We are thrilled to welcome Lynn Ghahary to our team for the month of April! I have been lucky enough to design with Lynn over the years and knew immediately she was who I wanted to invite as our first Guest Designer! Welcome Lynn!

Lynn Ghahary was first introduced to the wonderful world of scrapbooking way back in 2000. As a young girl Lynn had always loved to be artsy and creative so this hobby was right up her creative alley so to speak and she was hooked immediately! Scrapbooking is Lynn's creative outlet - it lets her get in touch with who she is all while preserving her most cherished family photos and memories.
Not only does Lynn love to scrapbook but she loves to create paper crafts of all kinds including cards, mini albums, and altered projects. Lynn has had her work published in several magazines including Creating Keepsakes, CARDS, Paper Crafts, Scrapbooks ETC, Scrapbook Trends, and Scrapbook & Cards Today. She is currently the DT Coordinator for Pebbles Inc., and a member of the creative teams for both Pink Paislee and Provo Craft's Cricut Circle Blog.
Lynn lives in New Jersey with her husband and high school sweetheart Salar and their two wild and crazy boys, Darian and Brandon (ages 6.5 and nearly 5). In addition to scrapbooking, Lynn is also an avid gardener, bookworm, and wannabe photographer. She is also a self-professed reality TV show junkie and organizing diva.

Check out this sneak peak of one of the project Lynn created for us this month...

Thanks so much for joining us Lynn, we can not wait to be inspired by you!

Being ONE is So Much FUN!!!!

Hello Everyone, today I have a Cupcake Chipboard album to share with you of my little one's first birthday. Want2Scrap has these amazing albums in so many styles but this one was just perfect. I used several products from Want2Scrap throughout this album, on the cover you will see the Finesse Silver Swirls

Don't you just love all the colors in this album? The paper used is the Little Girl Collection by Echo Park Paper Co...I created the cupcake ribbed paper cup look by cutting little stripes of pattern paper and adhering them to the front and back of the album using Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry....moving o page two. My Party Girl banner was created using the new S5-045 Banner Basic Two die template from Spellbinders, Pink Rhinestones and Nestabling Petite Scalloped  Circles Sm Hot Pink.I chose to show a close up of the Nestabling instead of the banner after all...it's all about that Nestabling u close and personal!
Now let's BLING up Page Three...shall we?  Using Spellbinders S4-137 Classic Scalloped Hearts and the fabby new  Nestabling Scalloped Hearts Red Rhinestones and Purple Rhinestones.
My sweet little cupcake was all blinged up with the amazing Fancy Bracket Small
Little Cupcake girl on page four was styling some Turquoise Rhinestone Bling
Page five is all about my priceless little Princess who thinks Perfect Is My Middle Name just like the laser die cut says, what is a princess with out her bling? So Princess Leahandra's crown has Finesse White Swirls Pearl and Silver Baby Bling.
The final page in my album has several pieces of Nestabling Petite Scalloped Circle Sm Hot Pink and Nestabling Heart Circle Turquoise Rhinestones and Spellbinders S4-304 Eyelet Circles Decorative Elements.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing my little one's first birthday with me, I hope that you are inspired to create your own cupcake album. Happy Crafting...Hugs Terre

Not Your Typical Domestic Godess...

I am not one to do layouts about myself unless I have to for an assignment...but this time I decided to do just that! I am glad I did because I also have my own story and every now and again I want to tell it. Yep, I am a stay at home mom, who helps with my in-laws business, is a total soccer mom, and wife to a wonderful hubby. But I have done things that make me special and every now and again it helps me remember that I am me and not just a mom and wife.

I pulled out tons of color for this layout...I loved the base of black and white but used several colors of bling from Want2Scrap and a variety of fun papers.

I also just adore the pearls from Want2Scrap. I love that they come in several sizes in each pack and I don't have to be stingy because there is so many in every package. And how about that die from Spellbinders, fabulous I say!

Can't go wrong with the gems either...I actually just used gems to cover circles of the same color that were on the pattern paper...what a great way to add texture and shine...and no drying time!

Well thanks for letting me share a little about myself!

I also want to let you know that Want2Scrap is going to be in Portland, Oregon this coming weekend...March 25-26th for the Creating Keepsakes Convention. I love the CK Conventions...whenever they come to town it is a retail therapy weekend for me so be sure to get your scrap shopping done in Portland this weekend!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Boy making cards for 180,000 troops

Ten-year-old Stephen Goodman, a fifth-grader in Surprise, Arizona, wants to send a thank you card to all military personnel. Not to one platoon, or to just one division, but to every actively deployed service member in the U.S. military. Stephen said he thought of the idea while spending the summer with his grandparents in Phoenix. “My grandpa went to Vietnam and didn’t get any cards, and he felt forgotten,” he said.

Stephen started locally, creating and hand-delivering 218 Fourth of July cards for patients at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix. The feedback was so thrilling and positive that Stephen started thinking: Why not send one to everyone deployed? He began paying attention to news reports. Somewhere, he gleaned the number of overseas troops to be 180,000. “I was really taken aback when he said he wanted to do one for all the troops,” said Stephen’s father, Steven Goodman. “I explained to him it was a big project, and because of what his intentions were, he would have to carry it out.”

Each thank you card is handmade, using “construction paper and scissor designs and markers and stickers and my imagination and that’s it.” according to Stephen. The entire family pitches in. So far, they’ve made about 15,000 cards. Vice President Joe Biden happened to catch Stephen’s story while traveling through Phoenix last August. Stephen got his own thank you in the mail. “It just said thank you for what I’m doing, the soldiers will appreciate it,” he remembered. The letter made Stephen’s summer. “It made me feel very excited to know that the vice president sent me something,” he said.

When all 180,000 cards are done, the Goodmans plan to take them to Luke Air Force Base where they will be delivered overseas all at once to make sure no soldier is over looked.

Nestabling in action!

Hey everyone! I hope you have been just as thrilled as we are about the all new Nestablings!! I tell ya, I've been a long time fan of Nestabilities and when I found out there was going to be coordinating bling patterns, I was over the moon with excitement!! I already have a nice little collection of Nestabilities of my own, so when I got my shipment of bling I got to play right away.

I used the Nestabling that coordinates with the Spellbinder's Labels One dies and made my card using 3 of the dies. I used the largest die as my card and the 2nd largest as my mat. The bling coordinated perfectly with my 2nd layer, so I just placed it perfectly on top...easy peasy! I also used a portion of the Black Finesse Swirls as an accent on my top panel.

And before I go, I wanted to show you quickly how those lovely chipboard swirls that I used on the Cupcake album cover look when you buy them and how I quickly changed their appearance with a quick coat of acrylic paint.

Just use a foam brush and the acrylic color of your choosing and coat!! To distress, you can always take a file and distress the edges for a pretty aged look. :) I also like to cover with glitter!

Soooo excited about the possibilities here and I'm off to play some more! Hope you are able to get your hands on some soon!

Blinged, Altered Tin

I altered the prettiest little tin that is perfect to hold some yummy chocolates, or you could even make a set of little circle cards using your Spellbinders Dies and fit them right inside.  The cards were my original idea for the inside, but the chocolates won me over.  Several months ago my hubby brought home a couple of these tins from work and asked if I could do something with them.   They had little cookies inside of them.  I have had plans to turn them into something for a while now.  There are so many options for the tins.  You can find all sorts of tins and boxes to alter at your local craft store.

I used a bunch of different Want 2 Scrap bling for this little tin.  I first I started off with a Chipboard piece and painted it white.  Then I aged the edges a little with some distress ink and used a little glue and pretty glitter.  Topped it off with more White Pearls and glued it to the top of the tin along with a pretty seam binding bow with a button adorned with another white pearl.

I know the first picture here is blurry.  I realized my finger turned the settings on my camera, only after I loaded them up.  By then I had already finished the tin and couldn't go back.  Hope you don't mind.  You can tell what I had here.

For the sides of the tin I cut strips of my patterned paper and added the pretty Finesse Swirls wrapping from the front to the back of the tin.  Don't ya just love all the pretty bling?  I sure do.  Nothing says feminine like a lot of bling and pretty seam binding.

The Finesse Swirls reached all the way around the tin on both sides.

See all the yummy chocolates that are spilling out the side?  Don't worry.  I ate them...I wasn't going to let them go to waste.  What girl doesn't like Dark Chocolate?  I sure do.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Heather

Come see Want2Scrap this weekend...

Want2Scrap will be at the Scrapbook Expo in Pleasanton, California on March 18 and 19. If your not doing anything and need a little retail therapy this will be the perfect place to get it.

We look forward to seeing you!

BLING on some SPRING!

That's what I did!

If spring is not reporting for duty where you live, here's my advice:
just BLING on some SPRING!

Where I hang my hat, we've got nothin' but gray skies and rain, rain, rain! So, what ELSE does a girl do when she's stuck INSIDE ... {Or, maybe she's just inside, anyway - to get some CRAFT - ON! Shhhhh!}... SHE.., busts out some sparkle from Want2Scrap! In my case - GREEN BLING!

Yeowza! I hope you don't have your rose colored glasses on,
because THESE are gorgeous!

{Okay, SERIOUSLY! THAT bling is the reason OZ went to the Emerald City! Pa-leeeze!}

So, here's me ~ the calendar says MARCH! So, I'll just MAKE some SPRING!

In celebration of my UNBELIEVABLY wonderful Spellbinder's Dies that were generously shared with the crafty and DELIGHTED{!} Want2Scrap crew, recently... And because I'm on the edge of my seat with excitement for the forthcoming release of NESTABLING!!!!!

{'Cmon, APRIL! Yee Haw!}

I decided to get some BLING into the game and bring some deafening sparkle to
a seasonal token I created to remind my friends, the Leprechauns, about something
I could ALWAYS use a little more of.....

Yes, folks : LUCK! {THE whole world could use a bit more of this right now!}

So, I blinged up the brightest, most merrily sparkling, lit from within, downright magical medallion to festoon a festive Tussy Mussy, with a little offering....

I started with these handsome and wonderfully coordinating Spellbinder's dies...

Colorful layers of circular beauty...

But they neeeeeeeed something.... Just a little something.... Hmmmmmmm.....

Oooooow, wait! I know! BLING!

Yipeeee! BLING - IT!

These lil' guys are SO easy and fun to work with! The adhesive is downright MAGICAL:
It's forgiving, if you need to make adjustments, but had real staying power, when you
are ready! It's truly wonderful stuff - and it's complimentary! {hee hee}
Adhesive backed bling makes me

*******SING!*******

Purrrrrrrrrr* Purrrrrrrrrrrrr* & MEOWWWWW!

Trust me, you will NOT get pinched if you sashay around with THIS on your arm!
The leprechauns will LOVE you, and your friends will be green with envy!

{Or reflection, from THAT dazzling bling!}

Whether or NOT the weather has you a little down, or even if you're having a
MOST fabulous day, I have a guaranteed way to make it even better.......

{Wait for it....}

BLING IT ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! The more the BLINGIER! Yipeeee!

Hope you've been inspired by SOME of the vast possibility of creating with Want2Scrap!

Have a blingy day!
