12 days: Easy Decorations/Teacher Gifts

Thanks for stopping by again today for your next dose of holiday inspiration!  We have some really unique decorating ideas as well a a special teacher gift or stock stuffer you could make for that certain coffee drinker in your life.
First I’d like to show you a really fabulous Christmas tree made out of magazines!  (Yes I did say magazine and no I have not lost my gourd.)

Gold Glittery Magazine Tree

Materials:
  • Old Magazine
  • Gold spray paint
  • Elmer’s Glue
  • Glitter (my glitternista made her own concoction… she can, she’s 10)
  • Want2Scrap Red Rhinestones
  • Cute glitter star for the top
Instructions:
  1. Follow the Martha Stewart tutorial on how to fold the magazine.
  2. Spray entire tree with gold paint. Then dab Elmer’s glue to the edges and sprinkle with your choice of glitter.
  3. Add your Want2Scrap red rhinestones.
The folding of the magazine went really quickly as I was talking on the phone to a friend of mine at the same time.  (Shh . . don’t tell her)

The tree looks really wonderful on my table and just sparkles. The photo really doesn’t do it justice.  I think I’m going to make a family of trees and put them around the house in different colors.  What a great way to recycle those old magazines too!!
Next up is a Maggie with a wonderful teacher gift idea!!

Chocolate Covered Spoons
MaggieLamarre-Believe
My name is Maggie Lamarre from Passionately artistic here with you to share a simple tutorial. If you have to create gifts for a large number of people such as teachers or church admin then this is a quick and easy gift idea you can make in less than 5 min.
Ready???
Supplies:
  • Want2scrap candy cane die cut
  • Wilton clear bags
  • Clear Spoons
  • Parchment paper
  • Ribbon
  • Bakers dark chocolate, white chocolate
  • Cinnamon spice, marshmallow, sugar candy
How to:
  • Melt the chocolate on a double boiler or melt at 20 sec increments in the microwave, stirring  after each time.
  • On parchment paper, dip the spoon into the melted chocolate, making sure it is coated well. Let cool for 2 min and then sprinkle sugared candy or shaved white chocolate over the spoon. Let cool for 5 min and repeat the process until you have all spoons coated.
  • Add the spoons to the clear bag and tie a ribbon around the bag. Adhere the candy cane diecut to the back with a sentiment and a little extra bling.
Voila you are done!
Isn’t that the cutest???  I could think of a ton of people to give these to.  What a great little gift idea!
We have really enjoyed participating in the blog hop with Passionately Artistic and seeing what all the ladies have been creating for us.  If you have missed some of the previous inspiration, here is little sneak peak using the Want2Scrap black black swirl rhinestones.

  9. OMG - my friend was just reminding me last week about these trees... I remember growing up and my mom making them out of old TV guides. We were just saying how we can spray them -- and I just so happen to have gold and silver spray... now to find a magazine ...hmmmmm
